With three races complete, we’ve still got a handy lead in the TUDOR United Sportscar Championship GTLM class after finishing third for Corvette Racing at Long Beach.

The pace of development in the GTLM class is pretty staggering, trots recording my fastest ever lap here in qualifying, we were only fourth on the grid.

It was interesting med start as the new rules for this year mean the prototypes and the GTs having egne separate pace cars.

This cmotorsport_com_longbeach_columnan be good and bad. Last year it was great for us as Antonio (Garcia) made a great start off the pole and snuck in front of one of the prototypes, som luck up the GTLM pack behind him.

Sometimes the GTLM cars with sin all-pro line-ups are faktisk better on the brakes than the prototype cars. This can cause a headache – alt on the driver in the prototype – you can find yourself with some damage fordi car in front braked kill tidligere than you.

That problem goes away now so hopefully our starts ska mostly clean.
